Paficikana wants to help you and your spouse by easing the hardship and giving moral support. As we said, financially you will be on your own, so please contact Pacifikana and we will try, where possible, to help you with money from the fund.

If you need moral support there are some organisations listed below who help prisoner's families. They can give you lots of information but if you would like some moral support from someone who has been through an ordeal like this, you can contact me (Birgit) by phone, post or email.

I can only tell you how I handled the situation and for now, the best advice I can give is to keep yourself very busy, cry when you need to (I felt like that almost every day Lächelnd), don't worry about freaking out when things consistently go wrong and (without being negative as I am a very optimistic person) If you think it can not get worse - it can!!!

You will become through this a stronger person. It will be one of the biggest challenges of your relationship but if you and your partner get through this your love is sure to last a lifetime and will be stronger then ever.

Only God knows why this is happening and we will understand in due course but for now we are not just going to accept this but Fight Back!!

List of organisation which can help too:

Prison Advice and Care Trust
Prisoners Families Helpline
Prisoners Families and Friends Service
Support, Help and Advice for Relatives & friends of Prisoners (SHARP)
