Raised by my grandparents, on a lovely island, South East of Fiji, I always wanted to join the army. I admired my grandfather who fought in the army during the Second World War and the Malayan War. My grandparents were my role models.
When I was nine years old my grandfather passed away. It was the saddest day of my life. The man I trusted and loved and wanted to be when I grew up had left too early in my life.
I didn't understand why God took my grandfather away from me but I promised myself that I would continue my grandfather's legacy and make him proud.
