If you wish to have your own landline you have to visit your local Telekom shop. Have a look if there is already a line installed at your residence. If not, you can request to have one installed.
It there was a previous line it would be good to know the number but if not, don't worry, just visit your local Telekom shop and they will be able to assist you.
If you intend to stay for an extended period it is better to have your own landline where you can install the internet as well.
