When living in Germany it is important to know typical characteristics of the Germans.

- polite
- reliable
- as having a sense of responsibility and duty
- to care for the environment and have traditional values

As in any country, typical characteristics and stereotypes exist. It is important not to take them too seriously because a small group of people can destroy the good reputation of the majority.
Germany has a number of different accents, depending on the area. Also, different celebrations are held in various parts of the country; in Westphalia "Schützenfest" is very popular, in the wine regions they celebrate the "Wine Fest", in Munich the "Oktoberfest" is very popular and the carnival in Cologne should not be missed. Different regions also have their own dishes and of course, beers.
Don't forget you are in the greatest beer country and probably will not find the same variety of beers anywhere else!
