Statistics PDF Print E-mail
You are working for a huge organisation and it is always useful to know as much about your employer as possible. One way to get an overview is through statistics.

At present, approximately 1900 Fijian soldiers serve the British Army and numbers are increasing.

Please click below to view some interesting statistics about the army. Overall, you will see that recruitment is hard work and the outflow of soldiers is higher than the inflow of recruits.

It's possible that this explains the increased recruitment of Fijians to join the army. A "brain drain" occurs with the loss of each army member who takes with them their high standards of training and valuable skills.

The army recognises that, when recruiting Commonwealth soldiers, diversity issues are important. They issued a program for diversity and equality called

Equality & Diversity Scheme 2006-2009
Incorporating Race, Disability, Gender, Age, Religion or Belief and Sexual Orientation

It seems that the easy part is the theory behind these schemes - the real challenge is the implementation throughout all ranks.
