I found your web page via a facebook website requesting maximum respect to fijians that serve in the british armed forces. I was disgusted to find how negative your portrayal of anyone from the UK. It's your viewpoint that we are all disprespectful larger louts and if your female you will have a fijian male done for rape. I will tell you that when I was at school I was bullied and so stood up for myself, I have utter respect for everyone I talk to and I'm not easy as your classing all english girls to be. I'm proud of my upbringing and if anyone is abused I will stand up for them, so I was disgusted that you assume that this is only a fijian culture that honours respect from all.

I could argue on the matter with regards to fijian men being over letchy with british girls. I have witnessed some who believe it's their right to go up to a girl and grope them. Even when a girl has said no they continue to grope, so on that issue I suggest you get all the facts. I believe your website to be very onesided, you make assumptions on the population of the United Kingdom as a whole as opposed to the minimal few. If you have experienced such things then i'm sorry you have met such low life people but the rest of us..............please do not tarnish ourselves with the same brush!!!!

My current boyfriend is fijian and serving in the british army and I'm proud that he has decided to fight for a country that is not his. He didn't have too as the United Kingdom no longer rules over Fiji and has not done so in many years.

In this country if your are a United Kingdom citizen and some incident has happened, you are given the right to a fair trial, your statements will be taken by the police and your given a solicitor to represent you. If however your not a national of the country, you should be treated the same but your not given a free representation. The British Armed Forces have their own rules and of course if it is found that you have not obeyed the rules of the land anyone whether your English, Irish, Scotish, Welshe or Fijian will be kicked out the army for misconduct. If you already have gained a dual national passport and classed as a British Citizen then you will not be deported and if your not, then any ability for you to stay in the UK will be removed. It's the simple law of the land that you signed up to honour when you joined the British Army. The Same would go for if you were in the German Army or the French Army or even the American Army.

You also state that people in the United Kingdom do nothing but swear but i'm sorry the fijians in my bf's regiment every second word is a swear word and actually where I live we hardly swear at all. I had to ask my boyfriend to tone down his swearing as it would be disrespectful to my parents.

I also do not understand the assumption you will be an automatic british citizen for being in the british army when the gurkurs have been trying for 40yrs. They have since been granted such status after completing a full army career and I assume that applies to Fijians. I think you have it confused with after 5 years the person seving in the armed forces is granted a long stay visa but any family members including wives and children then this does not apply to them but this has always been the rule.

Please check your statement and assumptions you have of British people, we are not all the same and hold the same respect as Fijians do with their families and wider family. I could deem some of your descriptions being racist to British people.

Namaste,

I am a Fiji Indian male & I just saw Marika's story & about Birgit Lahme on the evening TV news. I guess I am bit late to sign the Petitions, but I still decided join this website to show my support for their cause & also to take a stance against racism. I wish Marika & Birgit all the best for the future & wish them a happy loved filled married live. And a lot of pats on each every back of the website admin team & to each everyone who have helped Marika & Birgit with this campaign.

Regards 8)

F+cking story from Marika, it just sucks to hear sh+t like that, hopefully with a better attorney it will be no more than just a money penalty - if anything at all...
